The workshop will be held at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH during the week of July 9-13, 2001. It will feature a survey of useful sites, an examination of what makes an effective online lesson, and an opportunity to work in a small group to create sample materials. A discussion site will be created at Math Forum to allow participants to continue developing the contacts made at the workshop.

• The workshop will be limited to 20 participants who will be supported by 5 expert facilitators.
• Participation is restricted to current high school math teachers and exceptional pre-service mathematics teachers who will begin their teaching careers in Fall, 2001.
• Each participant will receive a stipend of $100/day. Local expenses will be paid; a small amount of travel support is also available.
• An important factor in determining acceptance for the workshop will be classroom experience. Pre-service teachers will need to have their applications supported by email from their supervising teachers or other qualified persons.
• Experience with the following is desirable, but not essential:
  
  • HTML
  • a computer algebra system
  • Java
