- Orthogonality (Chapter 3: Sec. 3.1-3.4, 3.6)
- Determinants (Chapter 4: Sec. 4.1-4.4)
- Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors, Similarity (Chapter 5: Sec. 5.1,5.2, 5.5,5.6; Appendix B1, B4, B5)
- Positive Definite Matrices (Chapter 6: Sec 6.1-6.3)
Grading (approximate):
- Quizzes: 30%
- 2 Tests: 30%
- Final (comprehensive): 40%
Note: Quizzes are based on assignments;
Test 1 is approximately on chapters 1-3; Test 2 on chapters 4-6;
and the
Final on chapters 1-6. See Homework Problems for
roughly when the tests will occur.
Assignments: Homeworks are assigned, but NOT collected.
HOWEVER, the (regular) quizzes come directly from the assigned
homeworks.
