At the Musik- und Kongreßhalle in Lübeck, Germany, August 2001.
As of the fall of 2006, I am now an assistant professor in the mathematics department at Duke University.
My primary interest is differential geometry, and specifically contact geometry, symplectic geometry, and knot and braid theory. I am also interested in gauge theory and mathematical physics. Currently, I work with Legendrian submanifolds in contact manifolds.
I did my undergraduate work at Harvard University, where I majored in mathematics and physics, and my graduate work at MIT, under the supervision of Prof. Tom Mrowka. I was a Five-Year Fellow at the American Institute of Mathematics before moving to my current position.
Astrid Giugni and I were married in August 2004. For a link to wedding pictures, please e-mail me.
I pronounce my last name Ing, though I acknowledge that this isn't the proper Cantonese pronunciation.
