About me

Here is the web page for the newly created Duke-UNC Topology Seminar.

I have compiled computations of (three-variable) augmentation polynomials for many small knots and augmentation varieties for many small links that may be of interest to those who have read the recent papers by Aganagic and Vafa, arXiv:1204.4709, and Fuji, Gukov, and Sułkowski, arXiv:1205.1515, as well as my paper with Aganagic, Ekholm, and Vafa, arXiv:1304.5778. Of possibly related interest: the slides from my invited address at the October AMS meeting in Tulane.

Solutions to the 2012 Putnam competition are now available. Here is an archive of solutions to past Putnam competitions, with contributions from me, and a nice story about Duke's Putnam program from Duke Magazine (January-February 2010).

For the past three years, a panel of people at Duke, including me, have held a Math Jam chat, hosted by Art of Problem Solving, to discuss Duke's undergraduate program (especially in math) with prospective students. Here are the transcripts from our chats: October 2012; October 2011; November 2010.

I am an editor for the journal Quantum Topology. Please send me a message if you are interested in submitting an article (especially in symplectic and contact topology).
