Assignments for Week 3
Week 3 (January 26-30). On Monday we will discuss our completeness axiom for the real numbers. Note that this will be different from what is in the text. Do not read Sections 2.4 and 2.5 until next week. On Wednesday, I will be out of town, but Dr. Smith will discuss Section 2.3. There will be no class on Friday.
The next homework will be collected on Monday, February 2.

- Part I (from class on Monday)
- Use the Least Upper Bound Axiom to show that every non-empty set bounded below has a greatest lower bound.
- Show that the sqrt(2) + sqrt(3) is irrational.
