The following places are roughly listed in descending order. They are all walkable to Duke or have a shuttle bus which brings on to Duke.

I strongly recommend the King’s Daughters Inn. It is a FANTASTIC deal for the money. It has a nice breakfast and is walkable to downtown durham. The Washington Duke is also quite nice, but main its advantage relative to the King’s Daughters Inn is that it has a full restaurant, Bar, and golf course as well as people opening doors for you. One can also walk directly from the Washington Duke to West Campus while one must take a shuttle from East Campus if one stays at the Kin’s Daughters Inn.

The Duke towers is a affordable option walking distance to East Campus. It is especially nice for week long stays as the rooms are all suits and have small kitchens and living rooms.

The Carolina-Duke is listed as a option for the very budget conscious. It is lower that the standard motel chains but its “deluxe rooms” proved a good option for those saving money. It is the lease walkable of those listed.
