The triangle, and Durham specifically, have a fantastic number of interesting Restaurants. Durham/Chapel-Hill was named America’s Foodiest Small Town by Bon Appétit Magazine. In a 2006, Gourmet Magazine listed a two area restaurants in the Top 50 Restaurants in the country: Durham’s Magnolia Grill (#11) and Chapel-Hill’s Lantern (#47). The region as an abundance of restaurants specializing short seasonal menus. Consider The Piedmont (Locally sourced modern American), Rue Cler (French), Dos Perros (Mexican), Jujube (Asian fusion), Revolution, La Vaquita (Taco Stand), Fishmongers (local Seafood), Vin Rouge (French), Guglhupf (Cafe/Bakery), Sage (Persian/Vegetation), Watts Grocery (Contemporary Southern), Hong Kong (Dim Sum), Crook’s Corner (Contemporary Southern), Talullas (Turkish), Four Square, Nana’s (Mediterranean), Pop’s, Scratch Bakery, The Palace International (Kenyan), Locopops (Mexican-style popsicles), Old Havana Sandwich Shop (Cuban), Geer Street Garden, Mediterranean Deli, The Mint (Indian).
Around Raleigh and the RTP area there are also a number of good restaurants. A few include: Second Empire, J. Betski’s (German/Polish), Udipi Cafe (South Indian), Chosun Ok (Korean BBQ), Vit Goal Tofu (Korean), Momoyama (Japanese)
Durham also has a thriving “food truck” culture including a number of taco trucks, a korean bulgogi truck, Only Burger (a gourmet burger truck), Farmhand Sausage Wagon, homemade italian ice, Daisy Cakes, Klausie’s Pizza, kokyu bbq (sliders), and an indian food truck.
