Dorothy Smith Wins Quilting Prize!

Dorothy recently entered a small quilt of her own design in the 2005 Quilt of Dreams contest sponsored by Hancock Fabrics for the benefit of St. Jude's Children's Hospital -- the designs address wishes of the young patients, and all the quilts eventually go to the hospital to brighten the kids' beds.  It's a multi-regional, multi-category contest -- Dorothy was entered in the East Carolina District in the "customer" category (others are Hancock employees and under-18).  Dorothy's "Butterfly Fiesta" quilt won first place in her category for Best Use of Theme and second place for Most Original.  Also, the quilt will now be entered in the national competition.
