Java Applets -- These were
written by Steve Levandosky (the author of our Linear Algebra text) to help
students visualize linear transformations, multivariable functions, parametric
curves and surfaces, and other things.
Notes on Sets -- These notes were written by a former
Math 51 TA; I suggest all students make sure that they are familiar with all
of the ideas presented in this document. (Note that some of the material covered
there uses the idea of a subspace; you might want to wait until we have covered
that in class before reading those sections.)
Discussion of the Linearity of the Change of Basis function
(don't look at this until we get to the "Systems of Coordinates" section
in the book.)
Sample Proof Questions for the Second Exam
Notes about Multivariable Derivatives -- These
notes summarize the lectures in which I deviated from the book. Make sure to
read these notes carefully!
