A litte bit about me ...
I was born in small town in northern New Jersey and moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania when I was ten years old. After graduating from Hempfield High School, I attended Dickinson College, a small liberal arts college in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where I majored in Mathematics and Physics  Then I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Ph.D. student focusing in Applied Mathematics.  I finished my Ph.D. in 2008 and am now an Assistant Research Professor in the Mathematics Department at Duke University. However, I'll always be a Tar Heel at heart!

Outside of math, I enjoy shopping, traveling, reading, movies, Broadway shows, doing Sudoku and crossword puzzles, playing board games, being crafty (making jewelry, t-shirts, soap, stationary, etc.), playing tennis, running (slowly), researching my family history, and spending time with friends and family.

In my younger days, I played tennis at Hempfield High School and at Dickinson College.

I also enjoy watching sports. My favorite teams to cheer for are the UNC Tar Heels, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Penn State football team. I like watching tennis as well, particularly the grand slam tournaments.

My favorite mascot is the Phillie Phanatic!
