| The boys in Troop 412 had a once-in-a-lifetime trip on August 11, 2001. We boarded the USS Nimitz at 6:00 am and were treated to an all day cruise. | |

| After staying in a hotel the previous night, the boys arose at 4:00 am so they could be at the pier by 6:00 am. | |

| The Nimitz put to sea about 7:30 am, and returned to the pier about 7:30 pm. For most of the day the Great Ship Nimitz was steaming at approximately 25 knots. While we were at sea we had the rare opportunity to see an impressive air show very near the ship and to stand on the flight deck to watch planes taking off and landing. |
