Troop 412 at the MAWAT Camporee, April 1999

Troop 412 participated in the MAWAT district camporee, which was held April 23 through April 25 at Camp Butner.

The Woofers prepare to load
the Troop 412 bus.
The bus has new tires! But the question is, will it all fit?

The Snake Eyes Patrol
Snake Eyes
and the Eagle Eyes Patrol
Eagle Eyes
meet to go over plans.

The scouts get final instructions
from Tod and Bobby.
That's Tod in the Woofer ballcap and Bobby in the Smokey Bear Hat

Is the bus tilting to one side? All aboard! Are there any seats left?

Why is he shoveling sand? That's an elevated fire in the background.
As usual Troop 412 won a first-place award for their campsite.

That's the structure for an elevated fire in the background. On the left the elevated fire is under construction. As you can see in the picture on the right, the boys were successful. An elevated fire and a cooking fire.

Now it's time to put the fire out. The boys are preparing to leave for the Saturday evening council campfire. Sign's up!
