Title: Computational fluid dynamics: Numerical methods and modeling
Instructor: Anita Layton

We will begin with a tutorial on computational fluid dynamics, and survey a
variety of numerical methods for computing solutions to the Stokes and
Navier-Stokes equations. We will then proceed to discuss more advanced
numerical methods, including methods for simulating the hydrodynamics
arising from the interactions of a viscous fluid and an immersed solid
structure. If time permits, we will talk about a few applications that
involve computational fluid dynamics.

This mini-course is intended for graduate students and postdocs with some
knowledge of numerical partial differential equations. Prior experience with
computational fluid dynamics is not required.
