Synopsis of course content
Rings, Ideals, Groebner Bases, Localization, Resolutions and
Syzygies, Normalization, Primary Decompositions, some dimension theory, Completions. There will be extensive use of the commutative algebra package "Singular".

Greuel and Pfister, A Singular Introduction to Commutative Algebra.
Assignments
Weekly homework assignments.
Exams
There will be a final exam (probably take-home).
