Synopsis of course content
This course essentially covers the material for the graduate qualifying examination in complex analysis, http://www.math.duke.edu/graduate/qual/qualcompanal.html. Compared to Mathematics 181, it will be more rigorous and faster-paced, with more topics covered.
Textbooks
The course will closely follow
L. V. Ahlfors, "Complex Analysis".

At times, it may be helpful (but not necessary) to take a look at
J. B. Conway, "Functions of One Complex Variable I", 2nd edition.
Assignments
There will be weekly homework assignments.
Exams
A take-home final exam is planned.
