Printing Two Sided to Duplex Capable Printers under WinXP
By default, most printer drivers are shipped with duplex printing
disabled. To enable it follow these steps :
- In Control Panel, click Printer and
Faxes
- Double click on the the printer you wish to
configure
- In the menu Printer,
click on Properties, then select the Device
Settings tab
- If the printer driver supports duplex, there is an
option under Installable Devices labeled
something like Duplex Unit. Make sure
that option is set to Installed
- Click Ok to apply the
changes.
- Now when your print dialog comes up when you print a
job, you can select Preferences and
specify double sided printing, or you can make double sided the default
by going back through the steps above to bring up the printer
configuration dialog and looking in the Options
tab for the printer.
