KDI Grad Student Wins Outstanding Student Paper Award from Hydrology Section of AGU
A Doug Sutton has just received the Outstanding Student Paper Award from the Hydrology Section of the American Geophysical Union (AGU).
This is one of the most prestigious awards a hydrology graduate student may get. Doug received this recognition for his doctoral research (supported by grants from KDI/NSF, USGS, and Water Resources Research Institute), which he presented at the Fall Meeting of AGU last December in San Francisco. He competed with graduate students from all hydrology, hydrogeology, and water resources graduate programs in the country as well as many students from Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
This award not only confirms the high quality of Doug's research, but also highlights his outstanding presentation skills.
Along with the announcement of his award, Doug's photo, biography, and research interests will be published in AGU's Eos. As aptly put in the enclosed notification letter, "[Doug's] presentation set an example for [his] fellow students and the entire AGU membership."
